E-glass milled fiberglass is produced by grinding glassfiber in a special method into a powder form of cotton-like appearance. It performs the intermediate function between chopped strand and glass powder. In particular, it improves the physical properties such as thermal property and dimensional stability while maintaining the excellent surface finishes of the product.
Milled fibre is compatible with thermoplastic materials(including Teflon) and thermoset materials such as polyester, phenolic, silicones, and epoxy. The product is also compatible with most asphalts, putties, patching cements and other coatings.
Milled fiber could be used widely as a reinforcement and filler medium for improving the molding properties of all sorts of plastic composites, adhesives and coatings to enhance their mechanical and physical properties, increase modulus, improve dimensional stability and minimize distortion under elevated temperatures. It displays effectiveness particularly when used in R-RIM, FRTP and also in coatings and gel coats to prevent cracks
